Joe Bilby sends in these images of the Essex Troop of the National Guard.  In this 1916 photo the lads leave the Roseville Armory for Sea Girt and then the Mexican border.


The First Regiment, 1917, marching past Washington Park en route to Fort McLellan, Anniston, Alabama, and World War One.

Central High School was the scene of another gigantic welcome home for the 113th Infantry, formerly the New Jersey First Regiment.
